Focussing on specific problem areas, Deep Tissue massage is a style of massage therapy that concentrates on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia.

Over time bands of painful, rigid tissue known as adhesions can develop in muscles caused by previous injury, poor posture, inflammation or repetitive motions resulting in discomfort, restricted movement and disruption to circulation. Applying deeper pressure, slow strokes and concentrating on areas of tension Deep Tissue massage physically breaks down these adhesions, alleviating associated pain and helping to restore normal movement.  Additional benefits can include stress relief and improving blood pressure.

Sports and Deep Tissue massage is offered at our cosy South Melbourne studio in our wellness room by a qualified Sports Masseuse with over 10 years experience. Taking a wholisitic approach to wellbeing by drawing on knowledge of functional training, Pilates, rehabilitation and massage therapy Phoenix Fitness & PT Sports and Deep Tissue massage sessions are designed to address pre-existing conditions and compliment your fitness training helping you to achieve your goals.        

Our South Melbourne wellness room operates on an ‘appointment only’ booking system. We offer over 75 Deep Tissue Massage appointments each week, including early morning, lunchtime and evening sessions ensuring there is plenty of choice to suit your lifestyle and needs.
